Ken with a wheelchair was created after the success of Barbie in a wheelchair, which was launched in 2019. But in addition to Ken, the brand will also be expanding their assortment of wheelchair-accessible accessories, including a ramp that can be used with the Barbie Dreamhouse.
Barbie’s Fashionista line includes over 175 looks, offering kids dolls with a variety of skin tones, eye colors, hair colors and textures and body types. In a statement, Lisa McKnight, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Barbie and Dolls, Mattel, said, “As the most diverse fashion doll line on the market, we take great responsibility in better reflecting the world around us and know there are many positive benefits to exposing children to dolls with different skin tones, hair types, abilities and more. As an added bonus, the Barbie is also introducing new product packaging, which will include reusable bags for kids to carry their dolls
